Season 2023-24: Naraingarh sugar mill commences crushing operations

Ambala: The Naraingarh Sugar Mill in Banondi village of Ambala district officially kicked off its crushing operations for the 2023-24 season on Friday, marked by Hindu rituals and the presence of local dignitaries, reported The Times of India.

The inaugural event featured the presence of the sub-division magistrate (SDM) of Naraingarh, the CEO-cum-executive director of the Mill, C Jayasharadha, unit head V K Singh, cane manager Ajaib Singh, and local farmers.

SDM C Jayasharadha conveyed congratulations to the farmers and mill workers, assuring that instructions had been issued to the mill management to guarantee a seamless experience for farmers throughout the season.

Expressing optimism about the smooth functioning of the sugar mill, SDM Jayasharadha emphasized the importance of ensuring a trouble-free experience for farmers. Manager Ajaib Singh revealed that similar to the previous year, farmers would receive slips through an advanced calendar, incorporating some improvements. Additionally, an app is in development, providing farmers with complete data and personalized passwords. Singh also encouraged farmers to cultivate new varieties of sugarcane, highlighting government policies providing new seeds.

For the upcoming season, the mill has set a target to crush approximately 55 lakh quintals of sugarcane.
