Mumbai: Equity benchmark Sensex dropped in early trade on Thursday. At 10:15 am, the 30-share BSE index was trading 108 points lower at 40,598, and the broader NSE Nifty fell 37 points to 11,900.
ICICI Bank was the top laggard in the Sensex pack followed by Asian Paints, Reliance Industries, PowerGrid, Nestle India and SBI.
On the other hand, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Bharti Airtel, L&T and UltraTech Cement were among the gainers.
