Sensex down by 129.08 points in opening session

Mumbai, Jun 3 (UNI) The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex on Tuesday fell by 129.08 points to 40,138.54 in early trade on Tuesday on brisk selling in Tech, Oil and Gas, Banking and Auto stocks.

NSE Nifty also fell by 45.25 points to trade at 12043.30.

According to traders, investors also took cues from global markets, which are weak on account of renewed global trade tensions.

The loser were were Heromotoco by 2.32 pc to Rs 2776.60, Asian paints by 2.15 pc to Rs 1426.60, TCS by 1.99 pc to Rs 2195.70, HCL tech by 1.82 pc to Rs 1091.05 and Bajaj Auto by 1.33 pc to Rs 2999.40.

The gainer were NTPC by 2.33 pc to Rs 126.15, Yes Bank by 1.77 pc to Rs 152.00, VEDL by 0.88 pc to Rs 165.40, Power grid by 0.81 pc to Rs 194.05 and ITC by 0.79 pc to Rs 280.75.

In Asia, bourses in China, Japan and Korea were trading on a negative note in their respective early sessions.

Bourses on Wall Street too ended in the red on Monday.
