The equity benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty ended flat on May 21.
Sensex ended 52.62 points down at 73,953.31, whereas Nifty concluded 27.05 points higher at 22,529.05.
Among the Nifty companies, 27 stocks were declining while 23 stocks were advancing. Hindalco, Coal India, Tata Steel, JSW Steel and Adani Ports were the top gainers on the Nifty50, while notable losers included Nestle India, Hero MotoCorp, Maruti Suzuki, IndusInd Bank and ICICI Bank.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 253.31 points up at 73,917.03, whereas Nifty concluded 62.25 points higher at 22,466.10.
