Mumbai: Equity benchmark Sensex dropped in opening trade on Wednesday. At 10:07 am, the 30-share BSE index opened lower by 171.25 points at 44,484.19. The broader NSE Nifty was down by 30.50 points at 13,078.55 in opening trade.
Tech Mahindra was the biggest loser followed by TCS and Infosys. Among gainers, Tata Steel rose, and Auto, FMCG and Infra stocks were trading in the positive territory with L&T rising by 1.23 per cent.
