Sensex ended 1,089.18 points up at 1,089.18, whereas Nifty concluded 374.25 points down at 22,535.85.
Jio Financial, Shriram Finance, Titan Company, Cipla, Bharat Electronics were among major gainers on the Nifty, while only loser was Power Grid.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 2,226.79 points down at 73,137.90, whereas Nifty concluded 742.85 points down at 22,161.60.
Indian rupee ended 40 paise lower at 86.24 per dollar on Tuesday versus Monday’s close of 85.84.
The Indian rupee experienced a decline in value against the US dollar, primarily driven by strong demand for dollars from importers and ongoing outflows of foreign funds from Indian equity markets.
