Profit booking continued for the fifth straight session on July 25, with Nifty managing to close around 24,400.
Sensex ended 109.09 points lower at 80,039.80, whereas Nifty concluded 7.40 points down at 24,406.10.
Top Nifty gainers included Tata Motors, ONGC, SBI Life Insurance, BPCL and Sun Pharma, while Axis Bank, Nestle India, Titan Company, ICICI Bank and Tata Steel were the losers.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 280.16 points lower at 80,148.88, whereas Nifty concluded 65.55 points down at 24,413.50.
