Mumbai: The equity benchmark indices ended lower today. Sensex closed on December 20 at 1,189.73 points lower at 55,822.01. Nifty ended 371.00 points lower at 16,614.20.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on December 17 at 889.40 points lower at 57,011.74. Nifty ended 263.20 points lower at 16,985.20.
BPCL, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, IndusInd Bank and SBI were among the top Nifty losers. Gainers included Cipla, HUL and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories.
