Mumbai: The equity benchmark indices ended higher today. Sensex closed on January 07 at 142.81 points higher at 59,744.65. Nifty ended 66.80 points higher at 17,812.70.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on January 06 at 621.31 points lower at 59,601.84. Nifty ended 179.35 points lower at 17,745.90.
Grasim Industries, ONGC, Hindalco Industries, HDFC Life and Shree Cements were among the top Nifty gainers. Losers were M&M, Bajaj Finserv, L&T, Bajaj Finance and HDFC.
