Indian benchmark indices ended higher amid volatility on Thursday.
Sensex ended 144.30 points up at 81,611.41, whereas Nifty concluded 16.50 points higher at 24,998.45.
Top Nifty gainers were Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, Bharat Electronics, Maruti Suzuki and Power Grid Corp, while losers were Cipla, Trent, Tech Mahindra, Sun Pharma and Hero MotoCorp
In the previous season, Sensex ended 167.71 points lower at 81,467.10, whereas Nifty concluded 31.20 points down at 24,981.95.
Indian rupee closed flat at 83.97 per dollar on Wednesday versus Tuesday’s close of 83.96.
