Mumbai: The equity benchmark indices ended lower today. Sensex closed, on March 7, 1,491.06 points lower at 52,842.75. Nifty ended 382.20 points lower at 15,863.15.
In the previous season, Sensex closed, on March 4, 768.87 points lower at 54,333.81. Nifty ended 252.70 points lower at 16,245.35.
Brent crude oil price soared past $130 a barrel on Monday, the highest level since July 2008, amid worries over the prolonged impact of the Russia-Ukraine crisis on the global economy and disruption in the supply of petroleum products.
