Mumbai: Benchmark indices closed lower today. Sensex closed on 21 January at 167.36 points lower at 49,624.76. Nifty ended 54.35 points low at 14,590.35.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on 20 January at 393.83 points higher at 49,792.12. Nifty ended 123.55 points high at 14,644.70.
Among the sectors, BSE Telecom, Metal and Realty fell over 2 per cent each. On the other hand, BSE Energy and Consumer Durables rose over a per cent each.
