Mumbai: Benchmark indices ended higher today. Sensex ended 178.87 points higher at 61,940.20, whereas Nifty concluded 49.15 points up at 18,315.10.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 2.92 points marginally lower at 61,761.33, whereas Nifty concluded 1.55 points down at 18,265.95.
Among the Sensex firms, IndusInd Bank, Power Grid, Tata Motors, Bajaj Finance, NTPC, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, Nestle and Kotak Mahindra Bank were the major gainers.
