The domestic benchmark indices ended higher on December 22.
Sensex ended 241.86 points up at 71,106.96, whereas Nifty concluded 94.35 points up at 21,349.40.
The top Nifty gainers included Wipro, HCL Technologies, Tata Motors, Hero MotoCorp and Hindalco Industries, while losers were Grasim Industries, SBI Life Insurance, Bajaj Finance, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank.
Indian rupee ended 12 paise higher at 83.15 per dollar on Friday versus Thursday’s close of 83.27.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 358.79 points up at 70,865.10, whereas Nifty concluded 104.90 points down at 21,255.05.
