Sensex ends 187 points higher, Nifty above 24,150

Indian equity benchmarks ended higher for the sixth consecutive session on April 22, supported by strong buying in FMCG, financials, auto, and metal stocks.

Sensex ended 187.09 points up at 79,595.59, whereas Nifty concluded 41.70 points higher at 24,167.25.

The Indian stock market started the week on a bullish note after Nifty and Sensex ended the trading session in green. The positive sentiment among the investors is due to expectations of favourable outcome of US tariff negotiations amid the ongoing visit of United States Vice President JD Vance.

In the previous season, Sensex ended 855.30 points up at 79,408.50, whereas Nifty concluded 273.90 points higher at 24,125.55.

HCLTech, M&M Financial Services, AU Small Finance Bank, Havells India, Tata Communications, Cyient DLM, Waaree Energies, are reporting their quarterly earnings today.
