Mumbai: Sensex closed on January 21 at 205.10 points lower at 41,323.81. Similarly, Nifty ended 54.70 points down at 12,169.85.
Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors were among major, while Bharti Infratel, Zee Entertainment and BPCL were among major gainers.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on January 20 at 416.46 points lower at 41,528.91. Similarly, Nifty ended 127.80 points down at 12,224.55.
The rupee is trading at 71.175 against the dollar.
