After a Christmas holiday, the domestic benchmark indices ended higher on December 26.
Sensex ended 229.84 points up at 71,336.80, whereas Nifty concluded 91.95 points up at 21,441.35.
The biggest Nifty gainers were Divis Laboratories, Hero MotoCorp, Adani Enterprises, Hindalco and NTPC, while losers were Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Infosys, TCS and Tata Motors.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 241.86 points up at 71,106.96, whereas Nifty concluded 94.35 points up at 21,349.40.
