Mumbai: The benchmark indices ended higher on October 17.
Sensex ended 261.16 points higher at 66,428.09, whereas Nifty concluded 79.75 points up at 19,811.50.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 115.81 points lower at 66,166.93, whereas Nifty concluded 19.30 points down at 19,731.75.
Top gainers on the Nifty were BPCL, Power Grid Corporation, SBI Life Insurance, HDFC Life and Coal India, while losers included Tata Motors, L&T, UPL, IndusInd Bank and TCS.
