Indian benchmark indices ended lower on February 26.
Sensex ended 352.66 points lower at 72,790.13, whereas Nifty concluded 90.65 points low at 22,122.05.
Asian Paints, Hindalco Industries, Apollo Hospitals, Divis Labs and Titan Company were among the top losers on the Nifty, while gainers were Power Grid Corp, L&T, Adani Enterprises, BPCL and Tata Consumer.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 15.45 points lower at 73,142.80, whereas Nifty concluded 4.75 points low at 22,212.70.
In the face of mixed global signals, the market began on a negative note and experienced continued selling throughout the first half. Nevertheless, a surge in buying activity among power and capital goods stocks during the second half facilitated a partial recovery from intraday losses.
