The domestic benchmark indices ended higher on December 28.
Sensex ended 371.95 points up at 72,410.38, whereas Nifty concluded 123.95 points up at 21,778.70.
Indian rupee ended 18 paise higher at 83.17 per dollar on Thursday versus Wednesday’s close of 83.35.
Top gainers on the Nifty were Coal India, NTPC, M&M, Dr Reddy’s Laband Hero MotoCorp, while losers included Adani Enterprises, Eicher Motors, LTIMindtree, L&T and Adani Ports.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 701.63 points up at 72,038.43, whereas Nifty concluded 213.40 points up at 21,654.75.
