The domestic benchmark indices ended lower on the second trading day of year 2024.
Sensex ended 379.46 points lower at 71,892.48, whereas Nifty concluded 76.10 points down at 21,665.80.
Top losers on the Nifty were Eicher Motors, M&M, UltraTech Cement, L&T and Kotak Mahindra Bank, while gainers were Coal India, Adani Ports, Sun Pharma, Divis Labs and Cipla.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 31.68 points up at 72,271.94, whereas Nifty concluded 10.50 points up at 21,741.90.
