Mumbai: The equity benchmark indices ended lower today. Sensex closed on December 23 at 384.72 points higher at 57,315.28. Nifty ended 117.15 points higher at 17,072.60.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on December 22 at 611.55 points higher at 56,930.56. Nifty ended 184.60 points higher at 16,955.45.
Power Grid Corporation, IOC, ONGC, ITC and Cipla were among the top Nifty gainers. Losers were JSW Steel, Divis Labs, Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma and UltraTech Cement.
