Mumbai: Sensex ended 38.80 points higher at 37,350.33. Similarly, NSE Nifty ended 18.40 points up at 11,047.80.
Yes Bank, PowerGrid, Maruti Suzuki, IndusInd Bank and Axis Bank were among the top gainers today rising up to 2.85 per cent.
Top losers in the Sensex pack included TCS, Vedanta, HCL Tech, HDFC and RIL falling up to 1.87 per cent.
On the currency front, the Indian rupee was trading 15 paise higher at 71.12 against the US dollar.
The global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading 1.89 per cent lower to USD 59.33 per barrel.
