Indian equity indices ended lower on January 17.
Sensex ended 423.49 points lower at 76,619.33, whereas Nifty concluded 108.60 points down at 23,203.20.
Infosys, Axis Bank, Shriram Finance, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Wipro were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers included BPCL, Reliance Industries, Hindalco Industries, Nestle India and Hindalco Industries.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 318.74 points higher at 77,042.82, whereas Nifty concluded 98.60 points up at 23,311.80.
Indian rupee ended lower by 6 paise at 86.61 per dollar on Friday versus Thursday’s close of 86.55.
