Indian equity indices ended lower on fourth consecutive session on February 21.
Sensex ended 424.90 points lower at 75,311.06, whereas Nifty concluded 117.25 points down at 22,795.90.
Auto stocks take a hit
Nifty Auto was the biggest loser, slumping 2.5 percent as fears of an EV import duty cut spooked domestic players. Mahindra & Mahindra plunged 6 percent, while Tata Motors and TVS Motors also saw sharp declines.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 203.22 points lower at 75,735.96, whereas Nifty concluded 19.75 points down at 22,913.15.
Rupee ends at 86.71/$ against Thursday’s close of 86.66/$
