Benchmark indices ended higher for the sixth consecutive session on December 5.
Sensex ended 431.02 points up at 69,296.14, whereas Nifty concluded 168.30 points higher at 20,855.10.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 1,383.93 points up at 68,865.12, whereas Nifty concluded 418.90 points higher at 20,686.80.
Top gainers on the Nifty were Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports, Power Grid Corporation, NTPC and SBI, while losers were LTIMindtree, HCL Technologies, Divis Labs, HUL and Bajaj Auto.
