Mumbai: The equity benchmark indices ended higher on the last day of 2021. Sensex closed on December 31 at 459.50 points higher at 58,253.82. Nifty ended 150.10 points higher at 17,354.05.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on December 30 at 12.17 points lower at 57,794.32. Nifty ended 9.65 points lower at 17,203.95.
Hindalco Industries, Titan Company, UltraTech Cement, Tata Motors and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the top Nifty gainers. Losers included NTPC, Cipla, Tech Mahindra, Power Grid Corp and Infosys.
