Indian benchmark indices ended lower on Thursday.
Sensex ended 494.75 points down at 81,006.61, whereas Nifty concluded 221.45 points lower at 24,749.85.
Biggest Nifty losers were Bajaj Auto, Shriram Finance, Hero MotoCorp, Nestle and M&M, while gainers were Tech Mahindra, Infosys, L&T, Power Grid Corp and SBI.
In the previous season, The BSE Sensex closed at 81,501.36, declining 318 points, and Nifty also declined about 86 points, closing at 24,971.30.
Indian rupee ended 8 paise lower at 84.07 per dollar on Thursday versus Wednesday’s close of 83.99.
