Mumbai: The equity benchmark indices ended lower today. Sensex closed on December 21 at 497.00 points higher at 56,319.01. Nifty ended 174.70 points higher at 16,788.90.
In the previous season, Sensex closed on December 20 at 1,189.73 points lower at 55,822.01. Nifty ended 371.00 points lower at 16,614.20.
HCL Technologies, Wipro, UPL, Adani Ports and Tata Steel were among the top Nifty gainers. Losers Power Grid Corporation, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance, Cipla and SBI.
