Benchmark indices ended lower today. On September 28, Sensex closed 509.24 points lower at 56,598.28, whereas Nifty ended 148.80 points low at 16,858.60.
In the previous season, the 30 stock S&P BSE Sensex closed 37.70 points or 0.07 per cent down at 57,107.52 points against its previous day’s close at 57,145.22 points. The broader Nifty 50 of the National Stock Exchange closed 8.90 points or 0.05 per cent down at 17,007.40 points against its previous day’s close at 17,016.30 points.
Hindalco Industries, JSW Steel, ITC, Axis Bank and Reliance Industries were among the top losers on the Nifty. Gainers included Asian Paints, Sun Pharma, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Eicher Motors and Power Grid Corp.
