Mumbai: The equity benchmark indices ended lower today. Sensex closed on 20th September at 524.96 points higher at 58,490.93. Nifty ended 188.25 points higher at 17,396.90.
In the previous season, the BSE S&P Sensex was down by 125 points or 0.21 per cent at 59,016 while the Nifty 50 lost by 44 points or 0.25 per cent to 17,585.
Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Hindalco Industries, UPL and SBI were the top Nifty losers. HUL, ITC, Bajaj Finserv, HCL Technologies and Britannia Industries were among the top gainers.
