Indian benchmark indices ended on lower note on Thursday.
Sensex ended 553.12 points lower at 79,389.06, whereas Nifty concluded 135.50 points down at 24,205.35.
Biggest Nifty losers included Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, while gainers were Cipla, L&T, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Hero Motocorp and ONGC.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 426.85 points lower at 79,942.18, whereas Nifty concluded 126.00 points down at 24,340.85.
Indian rupee ended flat at 84.08 per dollar on Thursday versus Wednesday’s close of 84.08.
