Mumbai: The equity benchmark indices ended higher today. Sensex closed, on March 8, 581.34 points higher at 53,424.09. Nifty ended 150.30 points higher at 16,013.45.
In the previous season, Sensex closed, on March 7, 1,491.06 points lower at 52,842.75. Nifty ended 382.20 points lower at 15,863.15.
IOC, Sun Pharma, Tata Consumer Products, Cipla and TCS were among the top Nifty gainers. On the other hand, Hindalco Industries, ONGC, Tata Steel, JSW Steel and Britannia Industries were the biggest losers.
