Mumbai: Sensex ended 74.48 points lower at 37,328.01. Similarly, NSE Nifty ended 36.90 points down at 11,017.
Maruti, Tata Motors, HCL Tech, Infosys, M&M, HUL, Hero MotoCorp, TCS and Kotak Bank were among the top gainers today rising up to 4.15 per cent.
Top losers in the Sensex pack included Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank, ITC, Axis Bank, Vedanta and ICICI Bank falling up to 7.11 per cent.
On the currency front, the Indian rupee was trading 33 paise low at 71.76 against the US dollar.
The global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading 0.17 per cent higher to USD 59.84 per barrel.
