Mumbai: The BSE Sensex settled 84.60 points higher at 39,215.64. Similarly, Nifty ended 24.90 points up at 11,687.50.
SBI, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech, Kotak Bank, IndusInd Bank, Asian Paints, Infosys and TCS were top were among the top gainers today rising up to 2.31 per cent.
Top losers in the Sensex pack included Yes Bank, NGC, Maruti, Bajaj Auto, NTPC, Axis Bank and Tata Motors falling up to 1.64 per cent.
On the currency front, the Indian rupee depreciated 10 paise to 68.81 against the US dollar.
The global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading 0.71 per cent higher at $64.81 per barrel.
