Sensex ended 929.60 points up at 70,514.20, whereas Nifty concluded 256.35 points higher at 21,182.70.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 33.57 points up at 69,584.60, whereas Nifty concluded 19.95 points higher at 20,926.35.
The top 5 Nifty gainers included Tech Mahindra, LTI Mindtree, Wipro, Infosys, and HCL Technologies. Realty stocks, too, surged on the prospect of rate cuts as Godrej Properties and DLF rose as much as 7 percent in Thursday’s trade.
