Mumbai: Benchmark indices closed lower today. Sensex closed on 15 January at 549.49 points lower at 49,034.67. Nifty ended 161.90 points low at 14,433.70.
In the previous season, The BSE S&P Sensex closed 92 points higher at 49,584 while the Nifty 50 ticked up by 31 points to 14,596
Tech Mahindra, GAIL, HCL Tech, Wipro and ONGC were among major losers on the Nifty while gainers included Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel, UPL, ITC and Grasim Industries.
