Benchmark indices opened on a flat note on April 20. The Sensex was up 26.97 points at 59,594.77, and the Nifty was down 0.60 points at 17,618.20.
At 10:00 am, Sensex was trading 139.02 points higher at 59,706.82, whereas Nifty was trading 24.80 points up at 17,643.55.
Adani Ports, UltraTech Cement, Titan Company, BPCL and Bajaj Finserv were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Cipla, Divis Labs, SBI Life Insurance, Apollo Hospitals and HUL.
In the previous season, the 30-share BSE Sensex closed lower by 159.21 points, whereas Nifty declined 41.40 points to settle at 17,618.75.
