Equity benchmark Sensex rallied in opening trade on Tuesday. At 10: 15 am, the 30-share BSE index was trading over 56.68 points higher at 40,650.48, and the broader NSE Nifty rose 36.35 points to 11,967.30.
UltraTech Cement was the top gainer in the Sensex pack followed by Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, Titan, ITC, Kotak Bank and L&T. On the other hand, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, SBI, Axis Bank and Bajaj Finserv were among the laggards.
Sensex closed on October 12, 2020, at 84.31 points high at 40,593.80. Nifty ended 22.05 points high at 11,936.25.
