Indian equity indices ended on a flat note in the volatile session on September 24 after Nifty crossing 26,000 for the first time.
Sensex ended 14.57 points lower at 84,914.04, whereas Nifty concluded 1.35 points up at 25,940.40.
Despite the marginal decline in the Sensex, both indices reached record highs during intraday trading.
Biggest Nifty gainers were Tata Steel, Hindalco Industries, Power Grid Corp, Tech Mahindra and Adani Enterprises, while losers included SBI Life Insurance, HUL, Grasim Industries, UltraTech Cement and Shriram Finance.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 384 points higher at 84,928, whereas Nifty concluded 148 points up at 25,939.
