Sensex, Nifty end lower after RBI’s repo rate outcome

Indian benchmark indices ended marginally lower on December 6 after Reserve Bank of India (RBI) decided to keep the repo rate unchanged at 6.5 per cent for the 11th consecutive period, marking a continuation of its neutral monetary policy stance.

Sensex ended 56.74 points down at 81,709.12, whereas Nifty concluded 30.60 points lower at 24,677.80.

Bajaj Auto, Axis Bank, SBI Life, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki are among top gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Adani Ports, Cipla, Bharti Airtel, HDFC Life and Asian Paints.

Indian rupee ended higher at 84.69 per dollar on Friday versus Thursday close of 84.73.

In the previous season, Sensex ended 809.53 points higher at 81,765.86, whereas Nifty concluded 240.95 points up at 24,708.40.
