Mumbai: Sensex today on Wednesday was trading 128.48 points higher at 39,960.32, while NSE Nifty surged 35.85 points at 11,822.70 in morning trade.
Similarly, at 10:14 am, Sensex was trading at 39,968 points, and Nifty was trading at 11,829 points.
Bharti Airtel, L&T, Infosys, ITC, Vedanta, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Auto, Kotak Bank and Sun Pharma were among the top gainers.
Tata Motors, Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank and TCS were among the top losers.
On the currency front, the rupee depreciated 11 paise against the US dollar to trade at 70.95 in early session.
