Mumbai: Amid slowdown in many sector, BSE Sensex today on 23rd August 2019 was trading 279.28 points lower at 36,193.65 at 9:50 am. On the other hand, the NSE Nifty too dropped 60.05 points at 10,681.30 in morning trade.
Vedanta, YES Bank, UPL and ZEEL were among the top gainers.
ICICI, HDFC Bank, Kotak Bank, Axis Bank, SBI and IndusInd Bank were among the top losers falling up to 2.62 per cent.
The rupee declined below the 72 mark against the US currency in opening session.
Ahead of US Fed Chair Jerome Powell key address, Asian markets were trading firm on a cautious note.
