Mumbai: Equity indices opened on a choppy note today. BSE Sensex today on 28th August 2019 was trading 12.46 points lower at 37,628.81 at 9:30 am. On the other hand, the NSE Nifty too fell 7.30 points at 11,098.05 in morning trade.
Tata Motors, HCL Tech, Bajaj Auto, TechM, Sun Pharma, PowerGrid, Infosys and ITC were among the top gainers rising up to 3 per cent.
Tata Steel, Maruti, HUL, Kotak Bank and ONGC were among the top losers falling up to 2 per cent.
On the currency front, the Indian rupee turned flat to trade at 71.48 against the US dollar.
The global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading 0.68 per cent higher at 59.43 per barrel.
