Mumbai: Equity benchmark Sensex jumped over 159 points in early trade on Friday. At 10:11 am, the 30-share BSE index was trading 159.80 points higher at 39,909.65. Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty rose 59.15 points to 11,729.95.
NTPC was the top gainer in the Sensex pack followed by Nestle India, HCL Tech, ONGC, SBI, M&M, TCS and Reliance Industries. On the other hand, PowerGrid, Maruti, Bajaj Finance, HUL, Kotak Bank and Titan were among the laggards.
