Mumbai: Equity benchmark Sensex rallied in opening trade on Thursday. At 10:05 am, the 30-share index was trading 465.11 points higher at 40,344.06, and the NSE Nifty soared 130.95 points to 11,869.80.
In the Sensex pack, stocks that were trading on a positive note include HCL Tech, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finserv, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank and SBI. On the other hand, ONGC, Asian Paints, Titan, ITC and PowerGrid were among the laggards.
Sensex closed on October 7, 2020, at 304.38 points high at 39,878.95. Nifty ended 76.45 points high at 11,738.85.
