Equity benchmark Sensex rallied in opening trade on Monday. At 10: 12 am, the 30-share BSE index was trading over 202.71 points higher at 40,712.20, and the broader NSE Nifty rose 44.70 points to 11,958.90.
SBI was the top gainer in the Sensex pack followed by ITC, PowerGrid, Axis Bank, NTPC, ICICI Bank, HDFC and Kotak Bank. On the other hand, Bajaj Auto, ONGC, Titan, HDFC Bank and Asian Paints were among the laggards.
In the previous season, Equity benchmark indices ended higher. Sensex closed on October 09, 2020, at 326.82 points high at 40,509.49. Nifty ended 79.60 points high at 11,914.20.
