Mumbai: Sensex on Tuesday was trading 65.51 points lower at 40,875.46, while NSE Nifty slipped 23.75 points at 12,024.45 in morning trade.
Similarly, at 10:10 am, Sensex was trading at 40,719 points, and Nifty was trading at 12,014 points.
Bajaj Auto, Tata Motors, SBI, Bajaj Finance and Maruti were among the top gainers.
Tata Steel, Vedanta, IndusInd Bank, Bharti Airtel, ONGC and Axis Bank were among the top losers today.
On the currency front, the rupee appreciated 8 paise against the US dollar to trade at 71.58 in early session.
