Several sugar stocks fall in early trade

New Delhi: The sugar stocks were trading lower when the benchmark index Nifty was trading up at around 10.34 AM on Wednesday.

Among the top gainers, DCM Shriram Industries Ltd. rose by 3.44%, while EID Parry (India) Ltd. increased by 2.59%. KM Sugar Mills Ltd. saw a gain of 2.53%, and Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. went up by 1.38%. Sakthi Sugars Ltd. and Magadh Sugar & Energy Ltd. also experienced upward momentum, rising by 0.89% and 0.75% respectively. Other gainers included KCP Sugar & Industries Corporation Ltd. (up 0.70%), Mawana Sugars Ltd. (up 0.47%), Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd. (up 0.44%), and Rana Sugars Ltd. (up 0.24%).

Conversely, several sugar stocks experienced declines. Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd. fell by 2.24%, and Ponni Sugars (Erode) Ltd. dropped by 2.13%. Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd. saw a reduction of 1.80%, while Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd. declined by 0.70%. Vishwaraj Sugar Industries Ltd. was down by 0.64%, and Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd. decreased by 0.47%. Other decliners included Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd. (down 0.43%), Ugar Sugar Works Ltd. (down 0.40%), Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd. (down 0.36%), and Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd. (down 0.31%).

The broader market, however, seemed to be in a positive mood. The NSE Nifty 50 index climbed 29.61 points, while the BSE Sensex rose 137.6 points at the time of reporting (10:34 AM).
