Shahabad: Shahabad Cooperative Sugar mill is the only sugar mill in the cooperative sector in the state that has cleared 81 per cent of the cane dues of the farmers till March 10, 2023, reports Dainik Tribuneonline.
The mill has produced 6 lakh 30 thousand quintals of sugar worth Rs 220 crore by crushing 61 lakh quintals of sugarcane in 149 days and paid Rs 184 crore to the cane farmers.
Rajiv Prasad, managing director of the mill said that the mill has sold 4, 30,00,000 units of power worth Rs 16 crore during the ongoing crushing season apart from producing sugar.
Farmers from around 380 villages around the mill are connected with the mill through cane cultivation and harvesting.
